St. Thomas Hammocks: Premium weather resistant color fast solution-dyed yarns makes this a great hammock because they are fade, stain, mildew resistant, and livable - tough enough to withstand the extremes of Mother nature along with little accidents that come from everyday living - water and wind-resistant fabric used to make patio furniture, awnings, boat covers and patio umbrellas, as well as hammocks. Hand macramé clew knots using strong bowline knots designed to tighten with use are used to attach the hammock to the Bamboo Spreader Bars. Each of the hammocks Bamboo spreader bars are triple dipped in marine spar varnish. The spreaders are made from eco freindly Bamboo making it the strongest spreaders on the market. Disappointed with cotton rope attachments (2008-05-05)
Have previously owned cotton rope hammocks that only lasted one season and bought this one because it was poly and I assumed would be sturdier but to my surprise, while the body is quite sturdy and just what we wanted, the ropes that attach it to the stand are cotton, not poly or nylon as we expected.
